Press Release

  • GULF HYDROCARBON BRINGS TAX-FREE BIODIESEL TO ILLINOIS

  • Buckeye terminal to offer biodiesel 24/7 via automated loading rack

(HOUSTON, TX) January 5, 2009– Gulf Hydrocarbon, the premier provider of
biodiesel to the petroleum industry, announces the arrival of biodiesel at Buckeye Terminals, LLC’s terminal in Hartford, IL, located at 220 East Hawthorne Street.

Gulf Hydrocarbon’s new terminal location will offer convenient 24/7/365 card key access to a dedicated biodiesel bay at an automated loading rack with high-speed pumps. The Buckeye terminal has approximately 120,000 gallon biodiesel storage capacity.

At the Buckeye terminal, Gulf Hydrocarbon can provide the biodiesel to create the popular B11 blend, making the most of the tax-free credit provided by the state of Illinois for any fuels utilizing more than 11% biodiesel in their blend. Additional blends, including B2, B5, B20, B50, and B99, can be done. Gulf Hydrocarbon will post its biodiesel prices on DTN, OPIS and Bloomberg. Distributors and truckers can also use the federal “blenders tax credit,” a $1.00 per gallon credit, as allowed by the Renewable Fuels Standard Act 2, that President Bush enacted in 2008. At the time of distribution of this press release the Renewable Fuel Standard Act 2 has not been renewed for 2010, although industry analysts expect the credit to be renewed once Congress goes back to session in 2010.

Jess Hewitt, President, Gulf Hydrocarbon, has this to say about the pending legislation, “Based on the 73 automated terminals in the United States right now, we need to triple the amount of terminals to meet the RFS2 goal of 850 million gallons of biodiesel production for 2010. Distribution network is the bottleneck. Gulf Hydrocarbon is equipped to aid in the RFS2 goals by distributing approximately 38 million gallons collectively between our terminals throughout the Gulf area and Midwest.”

Jess will be speaking about biodiesel, the Renewable Fuel Standards Act 2 and the economic impact at the 2010 Energy Expo, January 21, 2010 in Brownsville, TX.

All Gulf Hydrocarbon biodiesel at Buckeye’s Hartford, IL terminal meets the latest ASTM D6751 standards. Biodiesel, a non–toxic and biodegradable energy source, is a clean-burning alternative to petroleum diesel made from renewable domestic resources such as plant oils, animal fats and recycled grease and kitchen oil. Agrifuels, such as biodiesel, perform essentially the same as petroleum-based diesel, with one major difference- biodiesel significantly reduces harmful hydrocarbon emissions and greenhouse gases, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by as much a 78% as compared to petroleum diesel.

  • GULF HYDROCARBON PIONEERS BROWNSVILLE AS HOME OF THE FIRST BIODIESEL TERMINAL IN THE SOUTH TEXAS AREA

  • US made biodiesel now has a gateway to Mexico via the Port of Brownsville

(HOUSTON, TX) December 21, 2009– Gulf Hydrocarbon, the premier provider of biodiesel to the petroleum industry, announces the arrival of biodiesel at the RTW Terminal in Brownsville, TX, located at 1005 Anchor Road.

Gulf Hydrocarbon’s new terminal will offer convenient access to biodiesel truck loading rack. This new gateway for US-made biodiesel will offer easy availability and can serve the local and Mexican distribution-based businesses. In addition to truck access, the terminals also marine transport and the Brownsville Rio Grande International Rail Road serves the terminal for an efficient means of rail transportation.

Jess Hewitt, President, Gulf Hydrocarbon is full of optimism about introducing biodiesel to the South Texas market, “With the addition of our South Texas terminal distribution point we can now make biodiesel available to new markets in the Texas valley region, a vast and productive agricultural area, and new markets for renewable fuel in the frontera border states in Mexico. South Texas school buses, farms and industry now have access to a powerful fuel that is green and fights air pollution. These organizations are eligible for state and federal grants that pay for the addition of biodiesel to fleet and school buses who can now use biodiesel to fight harmful diesel particulate emissions. We intend to spend a good deal of time and effort educating related industries about these government incentives and benefits to the environment. .”

Jess will be speaking about biodiesel, the Renewable Fuel Standards Act 2 and the economic impact to the Brownsville area at the 2010 Energy Expo, January 21, 2010 at the UTB / TSC ITEC Center located at 301 Mexico Boulevard, Brownsville, Texas 78520

All biodiesel at the RTW terminal meets the latest ASTM D6751 standards. Biodiesel, a non-toxic and biodegradable energy source, is a clean-burning alternative to petroleum diesel made from renewable domestic resources such as plant oils, animal fats and recycled grease and kitchen oil.

  • HYPERFUELS SELECTED AS THE OFFICIAL FUEL PROVIDER FOR THE 2009 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA TDI CUP SERIES

  • B5 biodiesel to power the 2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup race cars

(HOUSTON, TX) February 2, 2009 HYPERFUELS, a national supplier of high quality race fuels, biodiesel, additives, and lubricants, has been selected as the 2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup Series Official Fuel sponsor.

The announcement was made as the 2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup Series begins its driver selection event February 1, 2009 in Sonoma, CA. The nine race series will finish on September 26, 2009 in Braselton, GA. Approximately 3,192 gallons of B5 diesel fuel will be used to fuel the diesel race cars as well as the transport trucks and generators throughout the 2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup Series.

“We are extremely pleased to have HYPERFUELS as a partner with the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup series in 2009. SynDiesel B5 diesel fuel is already fully approved to use in all Volkswagen TDI clean diesel powered vehicles available at local Volkswagen dealerships today," said Clark Campbell, Motorsport Manager of Volkswagen of America, Inc. "The addition of SynDiesel B5 diesel fuel in the Jetta TDI Cup race cars further demonstrates the feasibility of biodiesel as an alternative fuel source for American consumers, and supports the clean and green racing of the Jetta TDI Cup series,” added Campbell.

Jess Hewitt, President, Gulf Hydrocarbon, the parent company of HYPERFUELS added, “HYPERFUELS supports the use of biodiesel as a clean diesel racing performance fuel. • New biodiesel product announced at Independent Liquid Terminal Association Conference
  • (HOUSTON, TX) May 1, 2007- Gulf Hydrocarbon, the premier provider of biodiesel to the petroleum industry, is pleased to announce the additional of dyed red biodiesel to its product line at IFL terminal in Houston, TX. The dye red is automatically blended into biodiesel at the loading rack in the terminal, mixed according to IRS protocol using a mechanical injection system to insert the dye red into the biodiesel. The dye red biodiesel is used off-road by construction companies, ranchers, farmers, and standby generators, marine and drilling industries because of its non-taxable incentive provided by the US government. The cost of dye red biodiesel is comparable to diesel and current pricing can be found through OPIS or DTN. Scott Hughes, Director of Governmental Affairs for the National Biodiesel Board, “Dye red presents a wonderful non-taxable option for farmers, ranchers, off-road equipment haulers to better manage their logistics costs. The tax incentives will continue to help develop the biodiesel industry and preserve our natural resources. Gulf Hydrocarbon is truly a pioneer in the industry by providing this product at the pump in their terminals.” Gulf Hydrocarbon is currently offering dye red biodiesel to Louisiana and Texas distributors that sell the product to farmers. Distributors in the Louisiana and Texas area include O’Roarke Petroleum Products, Talen’s Marine and Temple Oil Company.

  • Petroleum distributors can fill up on biodiesel 24/7 at new terminal S. of Chicago
  • HAMMOND, Ind.-- Gulf Hydrocarbon Inc. has opened up a wholesale biodiesel facility south of Chicago that offers biodiesel 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in an easy-to-use, convenient wholesale distribution pump. "High volume biodiesel wholesalers and distributors are coming in at all hours of the night, loading up to avoid traffic," said Jess Hewitt, president of Gulf Hydrocarbon. "Chicago is undergoing a huge construction project that is crippling major freeways, so our automated 24/7 infrastructure will make the difference in making biodiesel profitable for some distributors." The facility allows tankers, transport trucks, rail cars to add 100 percent agri-biodiesel fuel (B100) to their diesel fuel mix. The terminal, located at 3200 Sheffield Ave., Hammond, Ind., has a capacity of 52 MM gallons total storage, 1.2 MM bbls of total storage. At the Wolf Lake terminal, the drivers preset a meter for the requested volume, connect their hoses, and flip a switch to start pumping the B100.

Hewitt said the terminal began carrying biodiesel in January, but just recently went to 24/7 B100 access. "Through the middle of a freezing winter, we pumped hundreds of thousands of gallons of heated biodiesel fuel in Hammond," he said. "Our wholesale customers have reported great success using it; they have increased their orders far beyond their own projections." The terminal will also improve availability for large fleet customers. Gulf Hydrocarbon's distribution specialist, Ron Richardson, said the Hammond terminal serves jobbers and distributors in the Chicago area as well as North Central Illinois and Indiana. He said the company is negotiating contracts to supply several local municipalities and transit systems. The launch of biodiesel at this terminal means retail gas stations will now have easier access to biodiesel blends, opening the door to more public pumps in the area. A map of public pumps can be seen at www.biodiesel.org/buyingbiodiesel. "Efficient and cost-effective distribution is one of the most important elements of any energy industry," said Joe Jobe, CEO of the National Biodiesel Board.

"Increasing the number of facilities like these is important to getting biodiesel into the fuel tanks of Americans and helping to supplement our nation's energy supply." Gulf Hydrocarbon has also recently launched a second terminal in Houston. Intercontinental Fuels, or IFL, terminal offers biodiesel 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at the wholesale distribution terminal located in North Houston near Bush Intercontinental Airport. The IFL facility allows bobtail trucks and transport trucks to add 100 percent agri-biodiesel fuel (B100) to their diesel fuel mix. The terminal, located at 17617 Aldine-Westfield Rd., has a capacity of 6.7 million gallons of total storage, 420,000 gallons of storage for biodiesel. NBB estimates that 27 petroleum terminals have invested in equipment to make biodiesel a significant part of their business. Today, more than 600 major fleets use biodiesel commercially, and 700 retail filling stations make it available to the public. Established in 1997, Gulf Hydrocarbon Inc. is the premier provider of biodiesel to the petroleum industry. Offering competitively-priced biodiesel for large end-users and petroleum companies, Gulf Hydrocarbon also offers marketing strategies to producers that wish to contract for high-volume off-take agreements and risk management of biodiesel or biodiesel feedstocks. Specialized services include biodiesel production, blending, plant operation, tolling, plant development and financing. Gulf Hydrocarbon pursues biodiesel project development and financing through its Renewable Fuel Research Associates (RFRA) division. Gulf Hydrocarbon holds an exclusive license to market biodiesel production technology through Petrogas Inc. SOURCE: Gulf Hydrocarbon Inc. via Business Wire.

“High volume biodiesel wholesalers and distributors are coming in at all hours of the night, loading up to avoid traffic,” said Jess Hewitt, president of Gulf Hydrocarbon. “Houston is without a source of biodiesel from a major petroleum terminal so our automated 24/7 infrastructure will make the difference in biodiesel being profitable for distributors.”

The terminal will also improve availability for large fleet customers. Gulf Hydrocarbon’s sales specialist, Ron Richardson, said the Houston terminal serves jobbers and distributors in Houston as well as several communities north of Houston. We are also looking for strategic partners who can utilize existing storage for sales of regular diesel fuel to our biodiesel customers.

The launch of biodiesel at this terminal means retail stations and truck stops will now have easier access to biodiesel blends, opening the door to more public pumps in the area. A map of public pumps can be seen at www.biodiesel.org/buyingbiodiesel.

“Efficient and cost effective distribution is one of the most important elements of any energy industry,” said Joe Jobe, CEO of the National Biodiesel Board (NBB). “Increasing the number of facilities like these is important to getting biodiesel into the fuel tanks of Americans and helping to supplement our nation’s energy supply.”

NBB estimates that 27 petroleum terminals have invested in equipment to make biodiesel a significant part of their business.

Biodiesel is a renewable diesel fuel that is made from domestic resources such as soybean oil or other domestic fats and vegetable oils. It can be used in any diesel engine with few or no modifications, and can be blended with petroleum diesel at any level. Biodiesel significantly cuts harmful environmental emissions, promotes greater energy independence and boosts our economy. Today, more than 600 major fleets use biodiesel commercially, and 700 retail filling stations make it available to the public.

  • AGE REFINING BEGINS BLENDING B20 FOR SOUTHWEST TEXAS MARKET San Antonio based refinery offers B20 for first time in Texas “at the rack”

SAN ANTONIO, TX, May 17, 2005 – AGE Refining, Inc, an independent refinery based in San Antonio, TX announced today the launch of its B20 biodiesel fuel, a 20% mixture of biodiesel and 80% Diesel fuel that meets EPAct (Energy Policy Act) compliance.

The product will be a blend of two premium products – sulfur free, soybean based and renewable biodiesel, provided by Houston- based Gulf Hydrocarbon Inc. and AGE's premium diesel. B20 is competitively priced with current market premium diesel and will meet distributor’s increased demand for biodiesel since the Volumetric Ethanol Excise Tax Credit recently approved for use of biodiesel. In addition, Texas has reduced its state fuel excise tax from 20 cents/gallon to 16 cents/gallon to encourage use of B20 BioDiesel Fuel.

AGE’s introduction of B20 is the first time in Texas that this environmentally friendly fuel will be available at the refinery rack. Typically distributors have had to load fleet fuel tanks with 2500-7500 gallons and transport it to wholesale petroleum distributors (known as jobbers) across the state. Now jobbers can purchase B20 straight from AGE’s rack at their San Antonio-based refinery, reducing transportation costs and increasing productivity. The B20 Diesel Fuel will be available from respected petroleum distributors throughout the South Texas area including:

    Dixie Oil Company Tetco, Inc.

San Antonio, TX San Antonio, TX

Johnson Oil Company World Fuel Services, Inc.

    Gonzales, TX Houston, TX

Glen Gonzalez, Executive Vice President, AGE Refining, Inc., “We are committed to providing a competitively priced, environmentally friendly biodiesel that is convenient and easy to transport. AGE Refining’s ability to offer B20 underscores our mission: a commitment to the environment that equals our commitment to producing high quality fuels.”
